The 9/11 Mural
A MESSAGE OF HOPE, FREEDOM AND PEACE

Jean Godden for The Seattle Times, 2002

"When tragedy struck, Seattle based artist Isa D'Arleans felt compelled to express herself. So she unfurled a 10- by 15-foot canvas-largest she could find-and created a 10-by 15-foot memorial mural.
The painting's images, drawing on myth and patriotic symbolism, portray a determination to triumph over tragedy....with support from air France, D'Arleans' mural now will tour U.S cities before going on display at l'Elysee Palace in Paris...then returns to the US vis Concorde. It will be donated to New york City".

"Mysterious and airy, Ms. D'Arleans' lyrical canvases and her dreamlike compositions are beautifully wrought in a misty atmosphere infused with delicate flowing colors and bathed in swaths of translucent light."  Amsterdam Whitney, NYC
